Delivering cost effective Periodic Training

If you already hold a LGV or PCV licence, you will have acquired rights, another term for grandfather rights.

This will last for 5 years after your respective DriverCPC start date. (10.09.2008 PCV), (10.09.2009 LGV)

Both new and existing drivers must complete a total of 35 hours Periodic Training within the 5 years following their ‘acquired rights’ or initial Driver CPC to keep their Driver CPC valid.

It is recommended that the periodic training is spread through the 5 year term - eg 7 hours (1 day) training per year. However this is not statutory a driver could do 21 hours (3 days) in year one and 14 hours (2 days) in year five. At the end of the 5 years you must have completed a DriverCPC qualification.
